We have had a fantastic week for Foodcycle! New recruits, awesome publicity and a hugely successful bag packing event!

It is always a pleasure to write such a positive newsletter and this week is no exception. It is great publicity for us and has raised our profile in the local area. Well done to our Publicity Hub Leader, Maxine, for organising this for us!

“Welcome to Foodcycle” meeting

We have been inundated with emails from people wanting to get involved so I am hosting a “Welcome to Foodcycle” meeting at 7pm on Wednesday the 10th of October at the Green Park Tavern. This will be a welcome meeting for people who are new to foodcycle and a catch up meeting for people who have been involved in the past and would like to get up to date with what is going on at the moment. This is the venue for our upcoming Soul Food event on Friday the 19th of October and will coincide with the Hub Leader meeting being held there at 7pm so it would be nice to stick around for a drink afterwards and get to know some of the team!

Soul Food is just around the corner!

Everyone at Foodcycle is very excited about the upcoming Soul Food event! It is a night of food and music with roots in the Deep South so expect fantastic local blues, bluegrass and American roots musicians. We are collecting wooden crates and jam and sauce jars to decorate the event with so if anyone has any of either, please hang on to them and we can arrange to pick them up at some point!

There are limited tickets available for the excellent meal being prepared by our very own Foodcycle chefs (get them ASAP if you would like one!) and a later entrance ticket to enjoy the Live music. There are more details on the facebook page: http://en-gb.facebook.com/events/147740532037680/

For the kid in your life or the big kid in you!

We are always in favour of supporting local events and this is a great autumnal event being organised by the National Trust. Carve It, Cook It, Eat It! will showcase pumpkin carving and cooking demonstrations with local chefs from Bath Soup Company and Bath FoodCycle you will have the opportunity to sample various dishes and take home the recipe cards! There will be an awesome face painter and they are kindly donating 50% of their proceeds to Foodcycle so go along and show your support for fantastic local events!

Final Note

I would just like to say a big big thank you to everyone who came out and helped us bag pack at Sainsbury’s. We raised an astonishing £250 and were donated over 80kg of food!! That’s going to keep us going for a long time! It was an awesome day for recruitment too and we got quite a bit of interest from people who would like to get involved.
