Starter: Monster Mushroom Soup (Mushroom Soup with Garlic Bread and Salad).
Main: Stir Crazy Stir Fry (Vegetable Stir Fry with Roasted Potatoes).
Dessert: Terrifying Tarte Tatin (Apple or Pear Tarte Tatin with Cream).

Unite Students Event – Waterside Court – 21st October 2016

On the evening of 21st October 2016 several hub leaders – and one very special helper from FoodCycle Exeter – ran a cooking demonstration for students at the Unite Students accommodation in the courtyard of Waterside Court.

Carol taught students how to make a quick and versatile dough from flour and yoghurt that was then transformed into either mini pizzas (that students could then take back to their kitchens to cook in their ovens) or a naan bread that could accompany the curry that Sam had prepared on site.

Carol had also prepared a delicious Apple Cobbler using the same flour and yoghurt recipe (with the addition of butter and sugar!).

Everyone seemed to enjoy the food and we hopefully raised awareness of the work of our hub and passed on some useful cookery skills.

Thank you to Sam (for travelling from Exeter!), Carol, Jodie and Adam and all of the students, as well as Hannah from Unite!
