Great Bath Bake Sale 2015

On Saturday 3rd October 2015 FoodCycle Bath were invited to take part in the Great Bath Bake Sale at Bath Abbey. The event was created in order to raise funds for the Abbey Footprint project that aims to save the floor from collapse and modernise facilities for visitors. All proceeds raised from the Bake Sale went to the Footprint project, Bath FoodCycle and FareShare SouthWest.

We had a full day of baking the day before at our usual location in the kitchen at St. Mary’s. Carol – our very own star baker – lead the effort with the help of various wonderful volunteers who spared a few hours or stayed the whole day.

We managed to bake quite a variety and quantity of cakes that proved very popular – Banana muffins, courgette cake, date & walnut, lemon drizzle, yoghurt semolina & rose water squares, zebra cake, fruit tart, gluten-free chocolate brownies, pineapple fruit cake, white chocolate & passion fruit loaf, apple slices, flower power cake and more … phew!

Is it possible to have too many cakes?
Of course not! “All caked out” is not a phrase in our vocabulary!

A ginormous thank you to all of our volunteer bakers and those who helped run the stall!
