On The Menu – 26th July 2017

We did things a little differently this week by combining starter and main into one buffet course where our guests could help themselves. It was quite the feast!
Main: Summer Salad Selection (Cous Cous Salad, Potato Salad, Leaf Salad, Jambalaya Green Veg, Frittata, Garlic Bread, Potato Wedges, Orzo Salad, Salsa, Guacamole).
Dessert: Shortbread with Fruit Salad.

To coincide with a new Doctor Who being revealed we had a very sci-fi theme for our course names on the 19th July!

Starter: Silurian Soup (Pea Soup).
Main: Cyberman Curry with Supernova Veg.
Dessert: Oodles of Cherry & Pineapple (Cherry & Pineapple Cake).

The Wimbledon Tennis offered the perfect theme for our menu this week…

Starter: Avocado Smash (Avocado on Toast).
Main: Racq-itto (Veg Risotto and Sauteed Mushrooms).
Dessert: Tie-Break Banana Cake (Banana Cake with Custard and Fruit Salad).

Main: Make America Gratin Again (Courgette Gratin with Salad).
Dessert: Sweet Cherry Alabama (Cherry Sponge Cake with Fruit Salad).

As it was Glastonbury the previous weekend our theme for the menu was obvious! Who can resist a bit of air guitar?!

Starter: Celery-bration Soup (Celery & Greens Soup with Garlic Bread).
Main: “Veg And Wedge” By The Food Fighters (Vegetable Stew with Potato Wedges).
Dessert: Bread Sheeran (Bread & Butter Pudding).

We decided to go for a vexillology theme for this week and to name our courses with flag-based puns.

Starter: Tricolore Garlic Bread (Garlic Bread with Tzatziki and Hummus).
Main: “Bean” To Mexico (Bean Chili served in Tortillas and with a Salad).
Dessert: Banana Republic (Banana Fritters with Fruit Salad and Ice Cream).
